miles - 1252 -, check 428.58 - I made a mistake, should have done the math/research, better but he's check said/reads rate at over 00.71, also read/saw were as a - only - driver/solo he had to fuel and traveled - 1 - mile and got paid ---- 00.33----- seems that they would have had mileage on pay check instead of looking thru so many windows

Talked to him this morning while he was waiting for reciver (0800)(CA )(1st solo unload ) and said he got a good night's sleep, had a pplan to pick up 45m away to go to Huston TX , said he liked the truck and that it would be just right for our lease plan. But knew that it would be taken away after he got thru flat bed school (9th DEC ) because it didn't have a headache rack etc . Was watching a new show on tv last night about wrecker drivers in northern CA with TONS of snow, there were several SWIFT trucks in line waiting for stuck/wrecked/snowbound cars/trucks to get moved out of there way.

I'm going thru the process with Swift right now. As long as you can show you worked for those employers and they can verify it (phonecalls, etc.), you are fine. I"ve had problems because during the past 5 years I have worked online as a private contractor, did spotty day labor as I do so now, and I tried to start up my own photography business. It's been pretty rough for me trying to prove who I worked for and when since the online job is not being cooperative so much.
If you have any lapses between employment you just need a letter written from a couple individuals attesting to your periods of unemployment. Sometimes they have to be notorized, as was the case with mine. I have heard about others who just had the letters written and they didn't need to be notorized.
Either way, I think you will fine.Marky84 Thanks this. -
1yr a Swift thinking of leaving nothing against Seift except They have a local slipseat posting ion out of STL but the pay is not what I'm looking for special since I've been averaging $1000 a week, pay is $.29 average miles 2000 to 2200 a week with $10 stop pay 1st stop is $0 and with about 20 stops a week and I found a company that pays $800-$1000 a week home everynight think I may take it Swift just don't wanna pay I can't go from $1000 a week to$700 too much of a pay drop and student will be almost paid the same oh well Swifys loss of another good driver and they wonder why they can't keep drivers

I am thinking swift should have been my first choice. I went to US xpress orientation and they sent me home because I couldn't duckwalk under a line on a wall I can do it fine under a truck but thats another story (US xpress does have some great people though just to be clear).
I all ready have my CDL I have a couple of questions. At orientation, Do they make you take a road test before and after orientation? what do you do for it? I think I should be ok backing and all that I just haven't driven a lot of 53' foot trailers they were the short ones. My trainer said the trailer is the same wheel base just a longer trailer? any truth to that. I mean I shouldn't have a probem either way its just something new to me and I am really excited to get started at a company
I am not worried about home time or pay so much. I LOVE to travel I want to see things and go places I have never been. I also want to do team driving. I know its going to be hard I am 6'5 350 plus I like idea having someone to back me up. I don't have anyone in mind though. will or can they find me someone or do I have to do it? -
My son has been with Swift for two months, had been driving for two yrs before he got to the orientation in TX, ( 3 days ) test drove on 4th day --- two lane-then short drive highway, to make sure student was paying care of the road signs . then back to lot and back up once. There trucks are double clutch. No duck walking.
Raydar Thanks this. -
You got a rd test but its easy. You drive a few miles as long as you don't hit nothing your good to go. At my terminal they didnt even test to see if you could back.
As for teaming I think you gotta find someone. I was interested in doing that but they wouldn't find anyone for me so I'm waiting to see if father in law is gonna come on board and go from there.Raydar Thanks this.
