You're paid on your Comdata account just as you would as an company driver ... you could just as easily have a separate bank account and have the funds direct deposited. I use my Comdata, as the trucking world recognizes their checks as cash and I can draw cash from any ATM with it and it will work as a POS at Walmart and other fine retailers.

Swift provides some fairly detailed reports vis-à-vis revenues, fuel, fixed costs and IFTA ... how you manage your business is your responsibility, as it should be. You can sign up for ATBS - an outside firm - but that would be your first mistake.

You set up your maintenance account when you sign your contract, if you want one - it's not required. If you do you can put in as little as .3 or up to .20

My wife and I are looking to start an OTR team career, Swift has presented us with the easiest starting options as far as training costs. We would be based out of the New Boston Mi. terminal. My biggest concerns are, constant miles, we want to drive as much as possible? And also reliable equipment? I have read 1.6 billion reviews, and its about 50 50 pro vs con. Is Swift a viable option for us?

I'm assuming you were there for the missile hit, nasty stuff there and hope you weren't injured. On subject I just completed my Swift orientation today and off with the trainer Monday. In orientation they were very upfront about things, I do think I'll enjoy learning the trade there.

    Yes I was there 5/17/87.

Good luck with your training. Keep an open mind, but if you have any issues contact your DDC (Driver Development Coordinator). Sometimes two people just don't hit it off...don't let that dissuade you from continuing training with a different mentor.

Honestly cooped up with another person in a small area will be difficult but I can handle it for the time it takes. I'm 49 and a pretty mellow guy. I've had to persevere through some adverse shiat that happened the day I drove to my new home in a new state(Oregon I guess I need to change that) which it really a story unto itself and I'm very happy to getting on with my career. I truly had become despondent over my situation. I know you were Navy but Semper Fi

My husband started with Swift in April and went on his own as a company driver in June. I have been trying to do research into swift and I have seen that they have a quarterly bonus for safety and other things. He is OTR. Could you explain how the quarterly bonus works
