Keep tabs on your app with Schneider, and with the recruiter assigned to it.
As big as their freight base is, they are constantly hungry for more/new drivers.
If you get something else in the meantime (like FFE, for example), then fine--go for it.

So far, the company that has shown the greatest interest in me has been a small company out of Grand Rapids, MI called Sweet Express. Recruiter told me that I am on a waiting list for a trainer with an automatic, since I have an automatic only restriction. The recruiter really seems straight forward without trying to sell me all kinds of pie-in-the-sky nonsense.

Update:
I said that I was going to put in about 30 applications and see what comes of those. I use the Driver Pulse app for all of my applications and I just counted 42 (plus one for Schneider through their website because Schneider isn't available through Driver Pulse). If I can't secure a job driving a truck with one of those 43 companies, I am officially retiring from trucking.
Just to let anyone know who is following or who has happened along this thread...
I am currently outside the US for personal leisure and not scheduled to return until next month. I can't make or receive US calls at the moment, so I won't actually have any solid information regarding being hired or 43 denials until I get back to the US to make the phone calls to those companies. Once I have a solid answer, and I am hopefully headed to orientation somewhere, I will post a message providing the details.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I was going through posts and responding to ones to which I had yet to respond, then realized I had already given this one a response. I didn't see a way to delete, so I edited with explanation.Last edited: Oct 14, 2021

I have a whole list of post that I've quoted by accident. It gets tricky sometimes. Stay safe.L.A.toTX Thanks this.

LA to TX, when you get back consider visiting the terminals in person too. The recruiters are corporate and may be a bit insulated from the dire need a particular city terminal has. Since you already applied online they should have your info available but take a hard copy to hand out just in case. There is nothing better than seeing a qualified guy walk through the door ready to start work right now. Worth a try in addition to the recruiter route.

I will keep that in mind, but I will note that most of the companies with which I am applying don't have terminals near where I live. They hire out of my area because those companies have drop yards in DFW. There are probably 5 companies out of the 43 where there is a terminal near me to which I can pay a visit. If none of the companies to which I have applied online work out, my one last hope is a street in Dallas, TX (Irving Blvd) where there are several trucking companies. These are small outfits that don't have websites and online applications. If the 43 companies decline me and none of these small outfits will touch me, I am retiring from trucking.
