It really is a good company. The pay isn't great though. I do alot of sitting. But all in all a good company.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

What division are you in (OTR / SE Regional etc...) and what type of miles and / or pay a week are we talking about? Also how is the home time as far as length and frequency been for you? I would be looking at NE Regional which is suppose to be home most weekends or home every week.

I'm home every weekend and run extended mid West. To Nebraska, to Maine, to Alabama. I used to avg 2300 Mikes a week, but with all the sitting I'm doing I'm getting about 1500.

Yeah that is pretty low. How long have your miles been like that? Has anything changed that you can see or did your miles just start dropping?

Miles just started dropping. It's mainly because most shippers and receivers are taking forever to load and unload. Like now. I got here at 1pm,and I'll probably be here until tomorrow morning.

Yeah that seems to be a theme I have read in many threads involving many different companies. Shippers and receuivers taking unreasonable time. It is a huge waste of time and money for both the trucking companies and drivers.

This is one area where the industry should band together and universally charge detention. That would lower the instances and at least you would be making some $ while sitting there when it did happen. Probably will never happen because not all companies will do it fearing they would lose the loads to a company that won't charge or enforce detention. If they all did it, that would not matter.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you either way. And thanks for your replies.

There has only been a few instances where ive been delayed while loading since ive been with tmc. Always been with one of 2 companies too. Im seldom delayed for unloading, and if I am it's usually no more than an hour.

The excessive wait times for loading / unloading seems to be mostly an issue for van drivers.
