Today was better as I drove through the mountains of Washington. My trainer is so god darned patient but inside I know he wants to kill me. I didnt even realize I returned to man handling the shifter. His comment was "when it was good it was real good. When it was bad it was terrible. Remember that feeling when it was good and just keep doing that.

So the day started with struggles. My trainer let me know we can work on it until I get it. So tonight as we were heading through Oregon my trainer has a stomach emergency. I don't think I just get him where he needs to go. Afterwards we kinda look at each other recognizing what happened. We stop for the night and everything worked. His comment. "I think we hit our breakthrough. I feel unbelievably awesome!!!

Opened the morning with the first three parts of my inspection being smooth and easy. Moved on to coupling and lights. Today is going to be a great day

There you go, gets easier the more you do it, just like shifting.FullMetalJacket and Chucktshoes Thank this.

Heading out to the east coast I just need to smooth it out.
-
When not tired it has smoothed out. When tired it falls apart. My trainer said when we left I was impressed. You are just tired and then you lose coordination. Fair enough. Have to make it more of a habit so I can always be smooth.

Well I am looking to test on Friday. I am feeling really good about it. Based on what I have done progressed to etc my psd trainer has decided he is going to tnt me. I am very happy. When I float I am smooth. When I double clutch I am much better but as smooth when I float. In additional crazy news my wife is getting serious about joining so we can team. Can't share enough how happy and exciting that is!!

All good.
As I tell everyone, it all ain't going to happen overnight!
Try and remember, it IS going to take time. AND, repitition, repitition, repitition. ......LOL
Good to see you both get along so well. Sticking with same guy for both PSD & TNT good thing for you.
Also, shows he has confidence in your abilities, or he wouldn't consider.
Sounds like all going great there, from what I see.
Keep it up & just don't expect it all overnight. I'ts going to take........time! Hate to say, no way around that, buddy. You gots to pay your dues!
Wow, wife interested now? Ah, good deal. It's either going to be really really good situation, or really really bad. Always love seeing the couples out here where it does work. Hope you are one of those great situations, if you pursue.

I'm adamantly opposed to floating. I just read all the paperwork that came with the truck. Both the truck manual and the transmission manual demand you double shift. You'll do what you want, but I am going to go with what the manufacturer suggest. I need to depend on this truck. So I intend on treating it properly. Floating, forgetaboutit.

Millions and millions of miles are "floated" every year. You do what you want, but I wouldn't worry about the transmission if you do decide to float every now & then. Let alone if your left leg gets worn out from so much clutch work.
On the other hand, Brehon - if I were instructing you, I wouldn't let you float until you had double clutching down pat. Wouldn't want you to accidentally float on your test - which will lead to failure. If I were you, I'd double clutch til that CDL is in your hands...FullMetalJacket and Chucktshoes Thank this.
