I am currently deciding on becoming a trucker. my father drives truck and has been since he was in his 20's. my brother is 10 years older than me and when he got out of school my dad tried getting him to drive. he never did, think he was to lazy. its all that ive wanted to do since i could remember and when i go to ask my dad for advice he says not to do it. says if he knew what trucking was going to be like today he would have never done it. i know there is a lot of work involved and that i could do it if i learned it. just wondering what you guys had to say about trucking for a career?

I have never advised anyone to do it.It is good for me however I have never married or fathered any children. If you have a family I would advise something that gets you home regularly.
