Find flat deck work, you won't need to worry about losing it before getting started, it'll come off while you work.

You can also start developing truck driving habits in your 4wheeler... Like reading all signage you drive past. You will start to notice stuff probably most people miss.. Like a big welcoming rest stop sign.. Common in for vending machines, park benches, and walking trailers! Then down at the bottom in small print.. "No semis". You dont wanna try and drive in there and get stuck. Learn to notice and read everything quickly before you pass it up.Just passing by Thanks this. -
There are some big ### Truckers out here. Go flatbed. You’ll be back down to 119 in about 3 months of tarping. Don’t stay in a career you hate.

To the OP, is this something you really want to do or need to do or can do something else that is labor intensive because this job is where you sit for 11 hours and more likely than not get enough exercise in for your metabolism.
Loose the weight before considering it, remember that you may not get the right foods while on the road, which will ding your diet. Trust me you don't want to make a habit out of truck stop food and pretty much it is a truck so stopping at some of the food outlets will only allow you to buy something that is either in a box or almost ready to rot. -
I just know I need a career change. I absolutely HATE my job and physically get sick whenever my off days are up and I know I have to walk back through the door for another shift. It pays $14 an hour, 40 hrs a week and I struggle month to month with that so all the jobs I've looked at in hopes of replacing this one pay too low. Driving makes me nervous because of all the videos and stories I come across but it seems to pay decent and that's what I need. I plan to pack all my own food and use my portable DVD player and my workout dvds to get in a workout everyday. I hate to hold off on getting started because driving was going to be my ticket out of this job and the thought of another 6 months there depresses the hell out of me but I want to be in better shape before I start my CDL training. I'd love a construction job because I've always loved construction but I can't seem to find a job in Alabama around me that hires people without experience -
You will see alot of stupid stuff happen but most of it is predictable. Need to watch what is coming up from behind you, where they are going to be in 10 seconds, What is likely to happen. Every time people are passing you and an exit ramp is coming up, you can almost expect them to move over in front of you and slow down for the exit.
You will notice that alot of people on the road aren't trying to go somewhere. They have forgotten that and are doing something else to pass the time. Playing with their phone or gawking at the person they are wanting to pass. Not many are aware they are trying to go somewhere. Ok, maybe i'm cynical.
It's isn't that bad if you are paying attention. But you shouldn't leave home without a dash cam.
I wouldn't worry about it, a change of scenery is what the doctor ordered!x1Heavy, Swiss Mountain Dog and redfurmom Thank this. -
