But if it was going through Landstar, your end would have been $650?
Like someone else said, I could make a living on that without much problem (done it plenty of times before).
But right now, that would be a serious cut in pay.

No I don't remember the percentage you received for power only, it varies by what the agent puts in the system. And it also was $1000 plus fuel.... and this was about 8 years ago

Not so long ago before the pandemic hit when rates were deflationary that was considered very good.

absolutely agree.....Last year I would have been very satisfied running $650 a day drop and hook on both ends.
But I'm guessing I'm part of "the problem".

I really love how some people think they can tell others what is profitable for them. SMH

There is a baseline minimum to operate. Running a truck isn’t rocket science.
The only cost I have over the guy with a 96 Pete is my truck payment (assuming his is paid for)
Also not saying their not making money but at $2 a mile theres a lot being left on the table.
At $2 a mile they might pocket .5 -.75 cents (if they don’t have a truck payment)

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

I’m happy with $1000 a day…. 187 miles, burn less then 30 gallons of fuel, parked in front of the fridge by 430, every day (well Monday to Friday)

I was running some loads like that earlier this year using their trailers. Pre loaded 2 to 3 drop or just drop and hook around 250 miles for gurantee 1000 a day or per load . I think 350 miles for 2k on one day but those were once in a while days .
