Look around and ask questions. Go to truck yards, make phone calls.

There's a couple load board apps you can download and use for free, just won't show contact information. Use one of those and see what's in the area. Or like I said beat the pavement. Look for big projects or warehouses and ask around

Dat. App I use to look around

This thread makes me worried about how bad things will get if we have a sudden and severe drop in rates again anytime soon. We are making doctor money on a Jr High education right now and some people here seem to think that is going to last forever.

$2 all miles was average not long ago. I recall a friend of mine in 04, $3 to east coast, $1 back. Average $2 pulling a Reefer he owned. Minus Lease Companies cut.

Im a bob tail dump truck O/O. I just got me a fairly late model day cab to convert into a dump truck. We’re about to come into the rainy season here in NW Louisiana. I’m gonna see if I can get some Power Only Loads. I’ll try not to be part of the problem and see if I can work smarter and take advantage of the current market.

This might be a dead end, and I don't know how much they pay their leased trucks, but Brisk Transportation handles the trucks for King Soopers. They've got 2 DCs in Aurora and do drop and hook to stores all over the state.

The mileage band insurance rate quotes I've gotten over the years were only a couple hundred per year difference. I get quotes from all over every renewal and it's the same deal year after year so I go with unlimited mileage because it's not worth the hassle to save 200-300/year on insurance costs.
