That would have been one of my first choices for that truck
-
if it was feasible too do ......

This one i saw was on the mirror mount..Had to lean it down a good bit so it wouldnt take aircraft outta the sky with any anount of head wind
bored silly Thanks this. -
volvo244t runs one.....or did we already establish that early on? Speaking of, haven't seen him on here in a while.........hope all is well with him.
bored silly Thanks this. -
I wouldnt run one..High winds, winter is commin so snow and ice will make it really top heavy and sway at the wrong time..Unless you could anchor it in place, it aint goin on my trk
bored silly Thanks this. -
Besides the 102 whip what would be a second option? My guess is dual wilson 2000 or 7 foot skip shooter antenna... What do you guys think?
-
The limiting factor for tall antennas on a big truck is the legal height limitation relating to overpasses and bridges on the open highways. And then there are the trees and wires in town. Unless positioned at an angle, the tall antennas can be problematic on a tall truck.

Coils to low with wilson 2000...I lost range when i ran my 22" and 27" predator 10k..Went to my 7ft skip shooter and it almost doubled...
I use a 3ft piece of flexable water pipe from home hardware to help with sway and i have mine leaned anout 30ish degrees......@highway speeds and high wind its sittin straight up but with the bend an all its not over the 13'6" then.. -
What kind of vehicle?
