I'd rather work on a 1099 with a truck that can do the speed limit then work for prime.

    HorseShoe and BigD09 Thank this.

After I asked wether he was w2 or 1099 he never said anything else to me after he told me was 1099. I reckon he knew I wasn't interested after that answer.... like everyone else.
Because he has had the ad up over 30 days and obviously hasn't found a driver.

    HorseShoe Thanks this.

You'd drive the speed limit and pay 2x the taxes, over driving slow and having a higher take home income?

Is truck queen a term? It should be. Guess I can't hate on you for wanting to drive a pretty truck. Best of luck.

Any profit seeking entity should hire this guy. Hell, if you'll pay repairs out of pocket I"ll buy a W900 and put you in it.

Pretty truck never put extra food on my table or more money in my paycheck.

Give me a fair, decent wage for work performed and a safe, reliable truck any day over some highway queen and piss poor pay.

.50/mile on a 1099 is highway robbery. With the additional expenses of being an independent contractor (higher tax liability, higher health insurance costs, and so on), .50/mile barely works out to .20/mile to you. You would make more running for Werner at .24/mile on a W2.

by law a company cant pay you on 1099 if your using their equipment the reason they try is so they don't have to pay all the taxes like ssi medicare workmans comp etc
