10spd VS 9spd, what changed?

problem with supper 10 is people get them confused with the lighting 10. the lighting 10 was a horible trans and shifts the same pattern as the super 10. many don't know the difference and if driving a junky lighting, they will complain about the super 10.

 

Oh God I drove a truck with the lightning. They are so bad Eaton doesn't even make rebuild kits for them anymore. My old boss was going to rebuild the one in his truck but even Eaton told him to forget it, now's your chance to put in a regular 10 speed.

 

What you are looking for is an RTOO14613 eaton. You can make one by pressing the counter shaft gears off and flipping then front to rear and from left side to right side plus buying a couple gears. I don't like to swap the counter shaft gears as it makes them a little more noisy in high gear as opposed to buying new gears with no wear pattern to begin with. final ratios will be 7th direct 1.0 7th od .87 8th direct .73 and 8th od .62. It will take a little hp to pull the big hole but just for empty it should be fine.
