jbourque- Do you still like to promote illegal driving? If so, I'm curious why?
mattbnr Thanks this. -
some are set in the old times, my mother would talk about how she would run 20 hours and kept 2 log books 1 hidden. She stopped trucking when I was young in the 80's since she was never home.

You can drive up to 14 hrs a day depending on where your10 hr break falls. Easy way to remember it is everything goes 10 hr break to 10 hr break with some driving in between.

Very helpful information. I will likely be pulling a reefer in the very near future with quite a bit of night driving as well. This sounds like a good schedule if the freight times allow.
Ty for sharing. -
did I not read the rules right? I thought it was max of 11 driving time inside 14 on duty.
Unless yer talking about shifting days gradually by operating on a less than 24 hr day. I won't do that, since I know our bodies run on a cycle based on earth magnetics and light/dark cycles, trying to warp the cycle will wear us out much faster. Based on what I've come to understand I think it best to look for a rest place early, anywhere from 4-9 PM, take 10 and go again. Research tells us that 1 hr sleep before midnight is worth something like 1.5 or 2 after. My body tells me the same. I feel much better if I get at least part of my rest in before 12. 9-5 is much better than 12-8. I am planning on getting myself a better accordion and have some fun with it when needing to blow some extra off duty time. Tween that and some good reading material, and some walking/jogging for exercise. -
This is correct.

well if you drive from 00:00 to 11:00 straight, take 10 hours off which resets your 14 clock and now you can drive from 21:00-00:00 which makes the 14 of max drive time within a 24 hour period but this isnt possible legally since you still need to do pretrips, fuel etc.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
Look at the pictures in my Album It will show you what you can and can't do.

You might as well dispel that notion right now. If you go OTR you will be required to drive at different times of the day and night depending on pick up and delivery times. You don't set your hours, the shippers and receivers do.biggare1980 Thanks this.
