That got me rolling, in what was basically comedic terror / agony.
One whack for every minute over HOS, working from tip to taint. ⅛ of an inch at a time.
11 hour violation, what does it effect?

But I heard I could do this from the truck stop counter. That's the most reliable place to find anything out.
I mean let's never read the laws we are governed under to know what can and can't be done. Then to double down on the ignorance to me is just hilarious.

Truckers Can Find Safe Parking Even After Hours Are Up Says FMCSA Official - TruckersReport.com

I think we need to ground this discussion on PC BACK to the OP and his problem. If I were an enforcement officer I would have serious questions why a driver would need PC in (THIS SITUATION ONLY). Every situation where I have seen or hard of using PC the primary reason was the 14 hour clock not the 11. I did once run out of my 70 on I 95 at the RI CT border. Thankfully I was right at a truck stop and was running paper logs. The FMCSA has written PC for two basic reasons. First they wrote it as to allow a driver to get from a dock after being detained to a safe legal place to park. Last they allow PC to move while off duty for personal reasons. On a personal note I don't feel that the FMCSA allows a trucker to find a safe place to park using PC just because of bad time management. If the OP had violated the 14 hour clock and was only driving to get parked and this was noted I have a suspicion this officer would have let it pass. Busting that 11 hour clock in this situation is a totally different thing. Bad accident at the end of the on duty etc etc is a good reason that has actually happened to me. I think I wrote about it in here. Bad wintertime crash on I 20 on ranger and the road was 100% blocked for almost 4 hours. I was 30 minutes past my 11 by the time I could move.
My post #7 has a mistake in it. I did not take the time to look at the OPs situation and give it thought. I am not going to edit it. My 4th sentence was wrong because I did not bring out the rarity of needing PC because of the 11 hour clock. Drivers, the FMCSA will give a bit on that 14 hour clock, but that 70 and that 11 are different. This goes more to bad time management. The FMCSA did not write the PC guidance to cover that.Truckermania Thanks this. -

Like my 1st boss said when I asked how to log all this "round the clock" trucking. His response was, "don't worry, you can get it real close with a pencil".
And it's really how it was. I got stopped once for running a scale in Michigan, and my log book was jammed in the ( Mack) door ( to prevent rattling) and on the way back to the scale, it proved my driving skill, as I steered, shifted and scratched in the log book some BS, thinking for sure they would check,,,never even asked for it.

Your snide remark was useless and a bit dense. However It did get you admitted to a small but growing group!
