I agree that you would be better off getting a quality inverter and then regular appliances. However, a good 12v cooler can carry you through for a while (I've got a Koolatron that I think is over 20 years old). And there are some 12v food warmers that I believe are okay (no personal experience, although I have one in my stuff o_O). I tried a 12v coffee maker and it only ever made it lukewarm.

And yeah, 12v fridges are stupid expensive.

    YMMV

ETA: you can always get a roll of aluminum foil and learn the fine art of manifold cooking. ;)

    I used a 12V coo;er for over 30 yrs.

keep the cooling fins clean and they last a couple of yrs. then buy another with your truck stop points for about $30-$40.

for cooking ,I started with a "lunch box" 12V cooker. thing worked great. get you some small aluminum pans that fit and clean up is easy.

you can cook a half chicken in 45 minutes. add vegs, a can of soup.

I would bring a lot of left overs from the house and sandwich stuff.

    I love my lunchbox oven.
Liner trays at walmart are cheap. Like 5 for $1.
Wife makes home made soup, chili. Grilled chicken... she freeze it in smaller freezer bags. About 45min before I stop for the night I stop thru something in the oven set on low. When I stop dinner is ready

I have a 12v cappuccino machine that @catalinaflyer left in a truck. Pretty sure he has a fancier one at home now.

I have a 12v truck fridge it is a OEM replacement for Freightliner, small freezer on top and fridge on the bottom . It has a real compressor but uses a 12v molecule style cable , probably a adapter for it . These are expensive options unless its your truck . Going on 3 yrs no issues. Truckfridge is the brand.

The 12v fridges are expensive, usually $500+, though I’ve seen them for $350 ish. Domestic brand. Longevity is a crap shot. The 12v thermoelectric mini coolers, aren’t bad. Might be best bet, along with a thermos or two. Till you get inverter set up. Small mine fridge, A 500 -600w micro, and a coffee pot, eventually. I’ve had all that for a long time. Brand new, Still at the house, Lol. I need to get my inverters hooked up, and fridge etc. Like you say, stop everything focus on that, hard to do sometimes. Always another priority

    Exactly.

And for me it just takes me time to look around and find something that I like that's the right price- inverter, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and then I have to look into how I'm going to install it and make sure the wiring is going to be set up right etc, etc.

Thank you to everyone for the great suggestions. I think I can find something for now that will work and in the meantime I'll look around and see what I need to be set up better for the future.
