The first thing you will need is a decent size inverter. Once you install an inverter directly to the battery you can then use normal household appliances such as a crock pot, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, sandwich maker, etc.

For a 1000 watt microwave you will need at least a 2500 watt inverter to run it without any problems.

I have a 600 watt microwave and a 1500 watt inverter to power it which does fine as long as I do not try to plug anything else in with it.

Be sure you check with the company you are working for before you install an inverter. Some trucks have burned to the ground from inverters being over worked so many companies have prohibited drivers from installing anything directly to the batteries.

That said if I were to start over I would buy at least a 2500 watt inverter and maybe even consider a 3000 watt in the event I decided to go with a more powerful microwave. The 600 watter I have works but it does take a while to get food hot sometimes 10 minutes or more whereas if I had a 1000 watt microwave instead I could have hot food in 1 to 2 minutes.
