That's why you should never listen to a truck driver, and research it yourself. Too much Nonsense out here. I wouldn't discount Prime's lease deal when many op's can make well over what I would and do. Figure 88 thousand a year would be the low end since I am very Lazy

You would be wrong, XPO LTL linehaul drivers average 110k a year, some more some less

You said xpo drivers don't make squat. When in fact they do very well.

What does that have to do with anything? Ups hauls a lot of cans, you think their drivers aren't making money?

You should go back re-read WHO and WHAT I was responding to so you can understand the CONTEXT. You are both responding to only part of the conversation. ANYWAY...there's plenty of people not very happy with their LTL work too.

The context is Driver pay. You responded to a post saying xpo is hiring at x cpm, in your response you are implying that they don't make any money because they pull cans so must only run low miles.

As for being happy or not at a specific job, that's an entirely different conversation, and it all comes down to the individual and his goals.

The context was a comment I made to another member. Period. I was implying hauling cans for XPO pays nothing. Other than that you are reading too much into my one post on the matter.

LOL! If $0.75 a mile is your "bank" in the Prime Leasing Program, I would completely reject and discount that program out of hand.

I've already demonstrated in a very simplistic way that $0.75 a mile "bank" you posted on the Prime leasing program is nothing more than buying one's self a job at best, while allowing the company to leverage ALL liability over onto the lease op.

These company owners/CEO's are laughing all the way to the bank, believe me, I know whereof I speak, I used to work inside on the corporate side.

Look, I don't want to wade too deep into the weeds. But let me ask all you guys that have drunk the kool-aid on lease op programs like Prime, do you know what replacement reserves are? Not maintenance reserves, but replacement capital reserves.

If so, where out of that $0.75 a mile (or less) before related benefits & payroll expenditures are the asset replacement reserves coming from?

How about the residual due at the end of most of these leases? Where is that money coming from?

    I'll tell you where, NOWHERE!...

Which is why the vast MAJORITY of suckers who sign these leases NEVER get the title to that truck in the end. I'm not saying there aren't some, but they are a very slim minority. The one's that do have to have everything go just right and work like dogs getting there. And when they do, they possess the title to a truck that is out of warranty, starting to break down in a major way with NO reserves to cover the expenses!

Heck, some people make good money selling Avon, Tupperware & Shaklee too. But only those who are are on top of the pyramid scheme do, think trucking company CEO's selling these programs.

What's that you say, Joe? You'd like to get out from your current truck lease? No problem, here's the contract to a new one.
