Not to ask a dumb question, but my truck has a professionally installed 1200watt power inverter, and I know when my truck shuts down, for APU, I can hit the little button installed under the bunk, and 4 green lights come on.
I recently hung up 2 strands of plug in lights that do all kinds of fancy things, which plug into outlets (like what's in our home) and everything works great as long as my truck is OFF.
HOW DO I GET THESE STRING LIGHTS TO COME ON AND STAY ON WHILE IM GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHTIME?
Yes, Im being serious, as not all of us are high tech, yet. Thank you for your help in advance.

Plug them into a plug that isn’t powered by the APU.
You should have plugs that are powered only by the inverter.
Not really sure why you want those lights on while driving. The reflection in the windshield would be awful.

Plugs that fit cigarette lighters are usually in the drivers area or bunk area. Can use those for extra lights.

Can also go to an RV dealership and get that taken care of.

You should not be allowed to have a lighted cab.

Like a super fool. While you're park yes it's kool nice to look at. But once you start rolling you should be all business. Besides I wouldn't want any unnecessary attention. Be smart driver.

There are 12V string lights that are much easier to deal with, use less energy because you’re not inverting power to run them, and make more sense for the application.

In my previous Volvo, I found a string of self-adhesive lights and mounted them across the underside of the dash. This provided me with plenty of ambient lighting to see all the floor, up front.
