My local kenworth stealership is selling replacement 12v refrigerator/freezer units that fit in KW's Freightshakers, and Petes for $620+tax. I asked if they'd install it for me for that price. Not only did they say no, but they quoted 2 hours!! HA! I made sure they knew it was just to plug it in, slide it into the hole where the old unit was and they could even reuse the screws on the mounting flange. Pfft. 2 hours.

The parts guy said they have been selling them like hotcakes to all the oilfield trucks going to ND. He said they've sold 20+ units in the last 3 months.

The Wally world $80.00 fridge sounds like a good idea. Of course a converter is required and that costs has to be factored in. Buy a new fridge one every couple years and it cost you $3.00 a month! And I'm betting you get more than 2 years from one, just saying.
