Ok... It sounds like you are not shifting the button on the side back to its normal position before trying to split back into the low side of the main trans....??
You need a new mechanic. He doesn't work on a lot of trucks if he never saw an international with a Detroit.
Internationals used to be available with Detroit, as were Petes and KWs and Volvo. International had a thing about Spicer, and the only Internationals I drove with 10 speeds were Spicer. I drove one conventional with a 13 speed and I thought it was an Eaton, although I'm not sure what that old COE had other than it was 13 speeds and shifted hard, and reminds me now of the 10 speed Spicer.,
Here what i do, when im on the high side i flip the side switch to go to 13, once i have to slow down i flip the switch back to low side on the side not the flip in the middle, but on the side that goes to 13 gear, then i hear a whining noise like the transmission is still spinning, so what you are saying is if im in 13 gear and i have to slow down,Flip the side switch back, flip the middle switch down, throttle the motor and ill be back in high side but not 13?
Lmao, yeah u right only problem is its hard to find a good, reliable mechanic thats not too expensive if you know of any let me know im in the southern area
uhhhh, no. In 13th, to go to 12th: pull splitter back, step on throttle, transmission will shift to 12th. The whining you're hearing is the splitter section in neutral because you didn't give it any throttle to match rpm.
What part of the south? Skateboardman knows a guy in Savannah, already I think it's Savannah. But honestly, I'm a believer in the theory the best mechanic is the guy that's owns the truck.
