The DOT didn't cite him...it was the company that he worked for that put it on his CSA report.

Bingo they are in an enforcement alert status, almost every scale will be gunning for the trucks and trailers, with the HOS as an added kicker.

Companies don't give you CSA points. They report to DAC/ISIS. They have nothing to do with "giving CSA points".

Hate to keep piling on, but you say you sat in the rest area for 2 hours..."FIXING YOUR BOOKS"???? Your logbook, paper or otherwise should be current to your last change of duty status. You need to find a company that has electronic logs, one that will force you to run legal. Are you sure there wasn't a logbook violation,(driver fatigue ) or anything else involved? (driver fatigue is only 10 points) There are drivers at my company with over 100 points, but every one of them was tied to an accident. Why do you think there are so many rules in this business? Like someone said earlier... I guess CSA is working.

Was talking to the safety guy about this today, I was curious about how many points I had and how many is bad. The green light for employment is 0-75. 75-90, use caution. Anything above 90, you're kinda screwed. I have 2 points. Log form & manner violation. You and I were applying for the one open job, it's no contest. Slow down, pre-trip, do the right things over the next few years. You can't afford any more points.
