    The kids do!
And more so the politicians that feed into the frenzy to get voted into office, with the cushy one term full retirement. They should get nothing but their pay check. Go back to a job and contribute to the health of the economy instead of an anchor.

$15.00 or more per hr means paying a bit more in taxes.

A lot of people have to raise families off of low skilled jobs. Lots of young single mothers cant finish high school and have to work full time to support their children.
There are many people just not capable of becoming better for various reasons. But if they work hard, why not have a living wage from it? Should we just continue to subsidize the businesses by giving out our tax dollars to their employees because they cant make enough to survive? Hell who wants to work full time and still be dirt poor?
Atleast they will be putting in instead of taking out when it comes to tax revenue.
It will probably start a chain reaction so some of theses trucking companies that pay garbage can go away or pay a higher wage.

Ultimately this will help the economy. It will stimulate the consumer base of the country, introduce more people into the economy, people who otherwise didnt work before.
More tax dollars will be going in instead of out. It's a win win.
    Im all for it.

Who in their right mind would take a $15.00 an hr job you ask, someone with bills.OTR drivers aren't making even close to that if you broke it down to what they would be making by the hour. What I don't like about what companies pay now is they ecspect their employees do to way more then what the job pays.Work three times as hard for a $10.00 an hr job. These staffing services really are a scam and never will I be that desperate to ever use them again.

When the minimum wage goes up so does everyone above them. Your a moron if your against raising the minimum wage. Prices go up and have gone up every year even when the minimum wage hasn't increased in 10 years. The economy benefits when wages increase because consumers have more money. More spending equals more jobs. The only people who benifits from stagnate wages is the rich. Stop watching the fox news ########.

LOL That's funny right there. I don't care who you are :biggrin_25512:

    • More jobs (full-time worker count) = more consumers in the economy, You don't need more money, you need more consumers. A "consumer" is a productive member of society of working age, being productive, in case you did not know. If you want more money, prove yourself, and get raised or move onto better work. Increasing the numbers of productive citizens is far more beneficial and effective at boosting GDP then tweaking with a handful of wages as a means to create a false illusion that "things are now better"
    • Inflation operates at multiple levels, the more money you "put into" THE LOWER INCOME segment via gov't manipulation, the higher and faster inflation rises. Hyper inflation is only a few events from kicking in and becoming unstoppable. Such manipulation of entry-level wages is step one. Stand by for the next step
    • Pay raises need/must be a part of economic expansion due to more production of industry and natural resources, NOT government manipulation of restaurant and unskilled labor segments. The backlash effect of government manipulation [that exceeds the 'norm'] is never pretty. Government has manipulated health insurance market "to save people money". How did that work out for you?
    • Minimum wage hikes have not been mandated in over 10 years, yet most entry level jobs are paying more today then 10 years ago. Why do you suppose that is?
    • Mandating all entry level pay raises DOES NOT push up upstream wages (except for a handful of union workers where higher level wage tiers are tied to entry-level wage tier), it only further slows their rate of increase to compensate.
    • Higher entry level job costs (accelerated by un-natural forces) only speeds up the creation of automation that pushes out these more costly positions in favor of automation that does not call in sick, does not get pregnant, does not file fraudulent workers comp claims, does not scream for 5% more money every 3 months, does not spit in people's food, and does not require health insurance be provided
    • In many segments, having a higher entry-level wage that breaches a certain threshold will only convert many full-time positions to part time. Business has a constant habit of adapting and reacting to outside forces as a means to stay profitable and satisfy investors and accountants.
Milton Friedman. You could learn a lot from him. But you sound too much like a socialist communist to consider such "radical thought" as personal responsibility and hard work.:biggrin_25523:
