The anti raise the wage critics are not the ones earning that wage. If your assumptions are correct why not lower it to 1.00 and employ everyone. Why, because you can't live on 1.00 hr neither can you live on 7.50 hr. Progressive states see this and are pushing the raise. It's corporations that buy off political puppets to trick you into keeping them rich. Corporate America hides trillions of dollars off shore. If you give that money to the low and middle class it gets spent in America. It's funny you post a video of ancient economist opinion and not the one who helped Clinton bring in one of the most prosperous periods in history. The other time was after another raise in the minimum. Wages have stagnated because minimum wage hasn't not risen. Enjoy the vid of a real economist

Raising the minimum wage isn't the answer. How do you expect a company who has moved their factory away from the USA to save on labor costs to bring it back so they can feel good about employing Americans and paying them more? Americans have chosen to "save money" by buying Made in China for so long and now and this is the result. Do you think those people in the store felt bad when they chose the Chinese product over the American product about putting an American out of work by where they spend their money? Why should the factory owner feel bad for being forced to close his plant because his workers won't buy the products the plant next door is producing, at the same time #####ing the plant next door's workers are not buying what they are making?? The owner's competitors are all doing the same thing - moving their production overseas. How will he compete if he does not do the same? Save money. Live poorly.

You can thank your political buttwipes for allowing companies to move overseas with no economic punishment.they allow them to put a post office box in a foreign country to hide money from taxes. They put in trade policies that allow foreign products to under cut prices with no tariffs but if you think a person shouldn't make a liveable wage or work 3 jobs to survive. You're an #######

If you could show me companies that pay ceos close 300 times their workers.. that's up from 30 times. And show me how companies making record profits by stagnated wages are being hurt by or put out of buisness by raises in the current states then I'll listen.

$15/hr will not automatically make everyone earn a "liveable wage" .. the problem is far broader than that. It's a global economy now.

From MSN.com home page today. Hardly a scientific poll, but the consensus seems to be palpable.

"No don't make a decent profit and don't work to keep keep costs down. Operate your business 'at cost' .... until your stock is in my 401k, then become as profitable as possible, and do what is necessary to compete globally" Said the typical numnutt who never grasped Economics 101 until they became invested in business on some level:biggrin_25523:

    Never heard before ...

"I want to invest in a company that is not concerned about labor costs but wants to be really swell to it's employees and management, and not be concerned with profit".

"I'm going to look for a job. I will begin looking at places that are guaranteed to be out of business inside of 12 months due to poor business practices and constantly bled cash in an effort to be good to employees for a little while"
