Logs-R-US & anyone else,
How do you feel re: the 16 Hour exception rule. Do you allow or do you have any drivers who can use it ? We have 95% of our drivers leave & return daily to our terminal. It has never been questioned by any officials, Any thoughts ??

Sure use it if you need it! There was case once we needed drivers to work OT and cover other shifts due to laying off. So yeah it helps out if they need to use it. Remember anything clock in and clock out time of over 12 hours needs a log sheet!
I don't advertise it to the drivers though. I don't want them remembering 16 hours and say I said they could work 16 hours every day
.

Good point ! I certainly don't want them trying to pull the "rabbit out of that hat " everyday.
-
Yeah they will to! Some will swear you said they could do it 2 x's a week , even though you said 1 time a week. But you can let them all know and punish who does not abide, I am in logs so I love to punish them (not really, but you know that's how the driver think of me).

isn't that the truth!
-
But hey the men usually love me beating them up
-
Didn't we tell you to stay out of them s&m clubs!! :smt079

I'm sorry,I had to laugh about that one.
-
No! Should I
I thought they was fun

I've used it before. It is of most benefit to LTL companies who like to send their linehaul drivers out on city deliveries when they return in the morning.
