What companies in northeast Ohio pay for your CDL training at 18?
Another question is, what does the yearly pay look like if I sign for a company at 18 and do intrastate? 50+?
I'm a fast thinker, I follow laws obsessively and can stay awake for long periods. I really want this job. I want to be a trucker, anything helps, thank you.

From your personal experience, is it an easy industry to get hired into? -
I commend the 18 Year Old for wanting to hit the ground running so soon. By the time he/she upgrades to interstate, he/she will already have 3 years of experience under his/her belt. 50k is fair starting to tbh imo. I made that much back in 2019 with JB Hunt after already having 4 recent years of experience. Back in the mid-2010s I was only averaging 35 to 45k doing OTR and dedicated lanes.Last edited: Aug 20, 2025
