Some of my thoughts as well. I also don’t know one trucker that hadn’t at one point told me about catching themselves way over the limit in a car because of, my guess being use to a truck or how much smoother and quiet the car they were driving was compared to thier truck.
I even know drivers that have thier wife’s drive them everyplace when not working because it’s too easy to get themselves in trouble when driving a car.
I know for fact my wife’s car feels like I’m going slow at 80 and driving with traffic.

I don’t have any real insight other than it happened to me, 68 in a 55 in AL, in a big truck none the less. I went to court, not to say I wasn’t wrong but to admit my mistake in hopes of a lesser offense, a year later it was amended to an equipment violation, thus keeping the points off of my license. This was in 2017, and honestly made me a better driver, some of my buddies said I’d be back to my old ways, and I said the hell I won’t. Speeding is stupid, getting caught sucks, but if you can learn and become better from it, that’s a plus.

Do you think someone will say "file form XYZ with your company and they have to keep you employed?"

I hope you overcome this and do well in life but a major speeding ticket is a big deal in trucking, personal car or truck.

The best way to avoid this situation is constant vigilance, not excuse making. Speed limits are a black & white issue especially when you are far over that limit. Good luck, maybe we can help in the future. Use this feeling to change your future behavior.

Your question was “do any of you know how this will affect me with my position with my company?”
The answer is no, none of us work for your company.
Ask your company and quit complaining about the answers you are not willing to hear.

It costs NOTHING to read EVERY speed limit sign. It's a requirement of driving. Signs aren't there in case you get tired of looking at your phone. You are required to read them, all of them. You have a commercial license, there is no excuse.

    I really like this part.

You are coming up to your exit and get impatient, so you speed around a bunch of people - and then just hoping to make it back in line to make your exit.

How much time could you possibly save by speeding past other vehicles when you are probably within a couple miles of your exit?
And you blame it on a woman that wasn't even in the truck at the time? Or, was she? Were you having a fight as you decided to pull that stunt?

I think most of us really hate it when some (insert insulting but true word here) passes us at high speed, just to cut in front of us and slams on the brakes to make the exit - putting so many people at risk.

Should’ve just run lol it worked for me when I was 18… I drove past a state boy once in my pickup and knew I was speeding and thought I’m in deep doo. I looked down at the speedo and it was pegged at 85. I saw him pull out and flip on the bubble gum machine I thought to myself wtf and put the go pedal on the floor guessing i probably got close to 110 but it was on a deserted country 2 lane highway so nothing in the way. I ran it like that for about a mile went over the top of a rolling hill hit a backroad and disappeared. I parked that thing in an abandoned barn sat there for several hours wondering what to do. I decided to just leave a note in the window and called a friend who I borrowed a different vehicle to drive home. After dark I went back and very carefully drove it to dads and parked it in the shop. I told him it needed work so I could use his truck for a while… I even updated my paint scheme while it was there
Good story, I know it doesn’t help but it worked for me in all of my 18 year old intelligence. Oh and it was a girls fault too.
