Read all the replies. @NorthernMechanic has sis and run the numbers for you. It's a 310hp. So it's cost to make it pull are really gonna hurt. Donor engines are not just laying around any more.

Just to throw a wrench into things, I'm not seeing a 425 hp arrangement listed for a 7FB 3406B. There's quite a long list of HP ratings but the highest I seem to be able to see is 400.W900AOwner, Oxbow and noluck Thank this.

The 7fb only went to 400. The biggest reason was wtaac not aatac. It can be added easy enough. The 7fb came with the best pump in my opinion.Oxbow Thanks this.

Try a 7FB16160 for a serial number. I can't for the life of me remember the arrangement number or OT-spec. They were only built in 86 part of 87. The the 4MG hit the scene. Though the 400 was still offered with air to air. I'm pretty sure the number I gave is a good serial number lol.

Nope. ATAAC was introduced in 86. They were advertised as 425hpE model Cat man, Oxbow and noluck Thank this.

I think mine was 7fb6136. It started life as a 400.

310hp for that S/N
I looked again. 7FB only lists test specs for 255-400hp.Oxbow Thanks this. -
I have got an 86 at the house still has the sticker we will look and see what it says. They say the only difference in the first 425 And 400 was air to air. I wouldn't think they wouldnt build a 425 and use a 400 arrangement but stranger things have happened
