I think that's a good call. A nice healthy c will make you happy. I assume it's going to be a mechanical c and not a peec right?

You lost me @wore out; different emmissions? Or is there a particular engine builder to stay away from?

I was going to say also - stay away from PEEC.

    noluck Thanks this.

An engine builder is all I will say. I am different than most but a quick Google search gets you there.

I think Tony is still in business outside of Des Moines, and it seems that there is a fellow in Texas that meter times - Cory Wood maybe? He may have been on this forum - not sure.

@noluck , I know that these suggestions are in the wrong part of the country for you, but there is a shop in Salt lake City - Danny White Diesel Repair I think, that used to have a real good reputation with tuning up Cats. I am sure that they can meter time.

    noluck and swaan Thank this.

I assumed he was talking about a crate straight from cat.

Unfortunately if you buy a crate truck engine it still won't be built properly, emission timing and likely still using aluminum pistons.

    Yeah, that is correct.

I have been doing some research with a friend of mine, we have basically found that there is a matching pump cam for C model housing comparable to every B model pump.

They are hard to find, but it wouldnt be difficult to build a C model that had an initial pump timing of 21/24* to go with the 14.6:1 pistons and 0R8789 C nozzles.

    You can install a B pump on a C already can't you?

    Oxbow Thanks this.
