Hi everyone.
I have this 378 daycab and the mirror position feels so unnatural. It’s kind of next to my head instead of in front of me so it’s a bit more laborious to look for things there.
I imagine this has bugged other people in the past so I’d like to see if anyone has found an easy solution that preferably doesn’t involve drilling holes but I’ll take it if it’s what I gotta do.
1988 378 mirror position.

As long as the bar that the mirror itself is mounted on is out straight (away from the cab) and not folded back, that's all you can do without removing them from the door and drilling to make them cab mounted. I'm sure that can be done, but I'm not sure of how difficult that would be. KWs of the same vintage that have a wing window and cab mounted mirrors took getting used to as well because of the wing window frame.
Personally I prefer door mounted because that's what I am accustomed to, but many prefer cab mounted.SmallPackage, mslashbar and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
I have seen a truck or two where they used stainless or chrome mirror bracket extenders to put the mirror forward of the main door bracket. It sits more in line with the vent window or a-pillar. Takes a little time and tweaking.
Oxbow Thanks this.
