I've been told by a very experienced mechanic on big trucks who got certified in S60 engines even brand new temp sending units have malfunctioned. I was chasing similar issues years ago. My problem was in the harness. You might want to have harness replaced, if it's old. Even it doesn't solve problem, it might head off problems in the future. Otherwise, get out the multimeter and start testing continuity.

I tested voltage and ground on both coolant senders I don't have a skamatic to look at.

Di you have a coolant level sensor module?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Yes it's a kysor and I replacer it...along with a new sender

If you unplug the temp sensor and start it what happens? I think way back ibfound a shorted out fan solenoid back feeding into the CLS Module, causimg all kinds of weird issues
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
