1997 kw t600 voltage drop problem

talked to kenworth service manager today and he said that they have seen alot of these. its the voltage gauge itself. Somehow when the Gauge light is installed it is shorting out in the gauge itself, remove the light socket and all is fine. so now i have to figure out how to light that gauge. KW wants $160 just for the gauge
