I understand the quality will not quiet be a Pete or kw. But when parts are cheaper and easier to get its worth the trade off. After. Ring in this w9 I have learned that parts are not cheap and with the cat mpg is terriable. I was told that the classic was heavier than w9 but now it seems to be a little lighter or the same. I will get one with either Detroit or cummins and prefer the 13 speed. Looking at 2002 and older for the lack of egr. I am pretty sure I can get one for 12-20k depending on mileage and maintence history. Will also be getting a trailer for about the same price. Thanks for all input and of anyone has any. Ommenta suggestion or opinions please post

Fontaine Renegade. The fancy SS rear end even adds an extra 100 lbs. they say.

I carry a gas generator, 10 chains and binders, 2 4' drops and 3 coil bags, 12 4' beveled timbers and 4 8' timbers. That's all the heavy stuff. Oh, and 5 gallons of gasoline.

i'll take the mid roof over a flat top. more head room and sometimes i get a load that hits 14 feet.

    i also drive a 05 w9. it weighs roughly 32k.(48 x 102 trailer) 48 is what i haul 48.5 and i have to watch the fuel. specially at 49.

i was driving a 96 t600 D60 engine before and it is 2k lighter. w9's are heavy becuase of the longer wheel base. we have 3 FL's and they all weight 3k less.

the detroit engine is a weaker engine but gets better mileage then the cummins i have now in the w9 which has a little more power.

i have 3 x 8ft drops. 12 chains and binders and 2 snow chains and some carpet and aluminum v boards on the trailer. the truck has a ladder, spare tire, sledge hammers and straps and other misc. stuff.

Your set sounds like mine. Glad to see the weight difference. It seems to be 2k less than what I am now
