Where can you find the conversion box to change a 9speed to a 13
-
3.55s are a road gear. I wouldnt want them for any type of off road trucking. What engine and power do you have? What trans? What tire size? How heavy will you be? Some new truck with big low end torque, 8LL or 18 speeds get away with 3.90s but most on/off road trucks run 4.11s, 4,30s or 4.56s. In my opinion 3.55s are way to high for logging.

Unless its a newer 9 OD I dont think you can convert it to a 13.

Get rid of the 9 direct and get a tranny with OD. Dont matter what you get 9,10, 13, or 18 high gear is all the same. A 15 OD is slightly lower but will still be much better than what you have. I think if you get a 13 or 18 over you will be happy with it.1989 Pete Thanks this.

My thoughts exactly I was going to go with 4.33's and a 18spd
-
Have a truck with those specs and very happy with it....
geared low enough to get some good loads out of the woods and still run along decent on the road -
Ya I think 4.33s would be good. 4.11s would still be ok and I wouldn't count out 4.56s or even 4.89s. Lower than that and highway RPMs get a little high.

Sorry thought we were talking about the logger. As far as the live stock hauler you will love an 18 speed.
