    China would probably build them a lot cheaper. :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

    They need to just build from the same design they have now. And leave all of the futuristic Star Wars crap off of them.

    Nope. Today's designs are already becoming dated. By the time a new ship could be built, another 5-7 years will have passed. Time to draw up the latest and greatest and get one in the water within hopefully a decade so it's not obsolete in the first five years.

    I'm still of the opinion that navies will be obsolete sooner or later unless it's a more advanced country in a war with a third-world country. Space-based and hypersonic weapons will make big ships sitting ducks.
