2 jobs as a local driver?

If you got in an accident and someone is hurt or killed, they would put you under the jail for having falsified logs and running over HOS. You willing to take that risk?

 

You can only have 1 log book, no matter how many jobs you have. As a matter of fact even if you have a local job and work at a place that is not driving you must log all that time working the other job on line 4, on duty not driving. What you are suggesting is illegal and not worth the risk involved.

 

What they said.^^. 11 and 14 hour rule still applies. Most legit companies frown on the two job thing. They have no control over your second job hours. I would guess they don't want you in their equipment after 3 hours sleep. We had a guy doing that and they finally told him he had to chose. He was fudging our logs to fit in the other job. They figured it out.

 

Thinking in this manner only reaffirms my thinking that some people shouldn't have a CDL. Pro FMCSA proponents love to publish these type of stories when they have a new agenda

 

You can work two local jobs, but you can't go over your hours. You are supposed to put in your log hours worked on each job.

You must also be a part of each job's drug testing pool.

8th note is correct. If something happened, the lawyers would dig and find the other job, and if your log isn't right, BIG, BIG trouble.

 

Also remember that you must report to your employer ANY AND ALL other jobs you have. They are most likely going to fire you if you are driving for another company. They are the ones that are libel for any accident you have.

And are you reeeeeaaaaaly a truck driver. We are wanting higher pay for less work. If you are willing to work more for less, you are missing the big picture. Why doesn't the local job pay more? Call those Democrats and get them out there picketing.

 

I don't know of any local jobs that would leave enough driving time in one shift to go to another. Unless it's part time at both. Then what are you gaining

 

If you think local work is easy and you will have time for both jobs you're crazy. With that being said you still run a log book even if you dont have to the company will probably want you to. So they can keep track.

 

Btw the local job I do is12-16 hour days. ASA local intrastate driver you get 16hour days
