Well as a bed bug with Mayflower I will tell you by the middle of next year we will be on e logs. Bye bye paper. As an owner operator your paid differently sure at the end of the year your 1099 can be 300-400K but remember all the expenses have to come out. LABOR fuel, truck payment etc. after all said and done you can make a good living, but there are a lot of headaches dealing with shippers. Not to mention the hassles of getting good labor. I take home the same money now doing special commodities. Less headache more miles that's true so my fuel bill is higher. I average around 100-110K miles a year verses my 40-50K bed bugging. Also it all depends on the agent your leased too. Yes they all say mayflower but each agent is individually owned. If you need some more info pm me.

Are you one of those 'hammer down' super truckers that get five inches away from the car in front of you to make them move over?
I have no love, nor respect, for those 'hammer down' types of drivers.
'Hammer Down' drivers are dangerous drivers. -
It depends on where you applied to. If you applied to corporate direct then yes you would be a corporate driver with the equipment owned my Mayflower directly if through an agent then it would be owned by that agent. If you look at any moving company it will have the corporate logo on it but will also have the agent name if an agent owned equipment. Now I'm talking about the trailers. The tractors will only say operated by Mayflower with the DOT number. But you can tell by the truck number on mayflower trucks the first three or four numbers will be the agent number and the last the unit number. Ex 1057-657. If it's a corporate truck it will have 4 or 5 numbers. Ex 19875.Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this.

Week I hammer down but to me that means keeping the left door shut and doing my 6-7-or 800 miles.

GIUSEPPE VENTOLUCCI Where did you apply to? Also where do you live? What kind of experience do you have? Have you bed bugged before?
-
Almost as dangerous as say; a swift truck going 62.1 trying to pass a prime or cre going 62.
Hope u can make some money this winter the busy moving season is about over in a few weeks or so. For a while when I was a local mover all I wanted was to be an o/o bedbugger with a large car pete. Then I met a girl and had a baby. Good luck tho moving is awesome!Sharky88 Thanks this. -
Does North American Van Lines still have that deal to make a new driver an owner-operator. Years ago I almost signed up for that, but decided I didn't want to deal with hiring labor for loading/unloading.

Not sure if they do now or not. They were bought out by Wheaton Van Lines. Or it might have been another van lines eat her way North American is not Noth American any more.Chinatown Thanks this.
