starting a buisness and losing your home???????????????
career planning is akin to trip planning
how can you manage a buisness if you cant keep your home and live up to the responsibilities inherent in being a good enough employee
to leave a job by giving notice and taking care of thier equipment
something doesn't add up in this piecemeal story -

Just apply to every company you want... DAC, no DAC, etc... Won't know unless you try. A bad DAC is hardly the end of the world.

Yep, this is why you have to be extra careful out there! One more and you could banned from the industry for some time! As of right now with your current record you are going to have to find a smaller, mom and pop type company that is a little more forgiving then the mega-carriers. This may actually be a good thing for you. You may get lucky and some of these little companies may not even check your DAC.
Try this website. It gives the names of smaller companies in your area. You can also frequently check Craigslist. They often have some really good gigs posted on there.

Good luck.... -
i thought DAC was only DOT related accidents, not minor parking lot infractions
seems like a lot of companies put anything on your DAC to keep you locked into them -
DAC reports can contain false information or information that is very negitive towards you. Some trucking companies do not use any common sense when reporting to DAC and could care less about the driver. Sometimes it looks like they are going out of their way to screw the driver over when there's no need. I believe your first step should be to try and clean the report up if you can. At least try, it would be a shame to find out later than you could have made a statement or corrected any information that is hurting you.
If you want to stay with driving then you already know what you've got to do. It's too bad that you had to learn the hard way. All what has happened to you has been covered here on this site before and could have been incorperated into your plan. Now it's going to be a lot harder but it still can be done. You'll have to decide which areas you'll have to give up when selecting a company to work for. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a great company that does not believe in DAC. If you stay whatever you do DO NOT GIVE UP.
I believe why should a driver be penalized for not giving 2 weeks notice when a company can just upright and fire you. Sure it's a common pratice but I don't think it hurts a company as bad as they want you to believe. My company would pay the driver for 2 weeks and tell him or her to stay home. They didn't want to take a chance that a driver may harm them in anyway. There'a always a driver there to take your place.

I did do a lot of calling around yesterday and one of the people I left a message to was the CEO himself.. Surprise the crap out of me that he called me back a couple hours ago.. He told me he don't get involved in those matters but he would let the big dogs in safety know that I talked to him... I don't know if its going to do any good but im keeping my fingers crossed that they may get something done sooner than waiting for it to officially go on my DAC where I can dispute it. According to hirerite it's on there but it wouldn't show up if I got a copy of my DAC right now so I can't dispute it until its officially filled by Maverick at the end of the month.
mikemill123 Thanks this. -

Try this company; they have a terminal in Nashville. They check/consider DAC on a case by case basis.
