I don't think Swift is that bad at all, but to listen to the "pundits" you would think it's run by Satan himself.

Nice bike by the way, What is it ? Looks like a sporty tank, hard tail frame, is that a drum brake in front ? I'm not sure what motor that is shovle maybe?
I'd ride the crap outa that thing. I'll have my motorcycle license next week. As soon as the 30 days are up on my permit.
As far as being run by satan. U never can tell. I'v worked for formen everyone thought were the biggest A-holes out there only to find sure they were pricks but so are most of my friends lol, U gotta know when to laugh and just say "no I'm not going to do that " otherwise they'd have u practicaly puch some one in the head just to watch what happens. Just because u dont know any better, or think u have to because he's ur boss.
On the other hand for whatever reason some ppl might just get treated better and never know what it's like for others. -
I can gaurantee you that 35 an hour union truck driving jobs are a rarity and good luck on getting that in your first year

I'm going through the same thing. Been out of work for 3 years. {The sailboat industry}. It took a little over a year to get into a class at the local Community College.
I went through school and got CDL A with no problem. Now I'm hoping this won't cause me to not get a job. Currently waiting to hear from US Xpress. Fingers crossed. -
I never said my first year lol thats why im going otr to get experience and then maybe start delivering pavement or crushed stone with a dump trailer and then when there isnt work i have no problem hopping out of the truck and working with a shovel get my hydraulics and go from there.
I'm just saying my dad started with a shovel and hes now machine operator nothing gets handed to you but him being in the union gives me a better chance of joining then someone off of the street thats how union works family first

Plenty of openings in my line of work-
Underground Utility locating
we hang right in there with the trucking listings for the most part.
of course you cant just drive around all day and may end up a truckers road kill...
With a little wit, clean record, ability to take crap, and not know if you ll have a job day to day since locating is nt an exact science, one can roughly average the same pay as an otr truck driver...
In my 17+ yrs I ve seen a couple truckers come and go...
Most dont come back...
and why I m considering the alternative- the knees are talking to me after years of footwork. -
Well just to let u guys n gals know. I did go down to the unemployment office on friday. Didnt take long at all. I was told right away that the state has no more funds for any kind of schooling for anyone and would recieve no help from them at all. Yeah, I live in indiana.
