2000-2006 peterbilt 379 differences?

    Can a 2006 379 cab be swapped onto a 2000 379 chassis both c-15's ?

    The 2000 would be built for 1998 emissions. the 06 built for 04 emissions. the harness on the cab side of ECM is where the difference will be. I think there is a good chance there is a jumper harness for your swap. try Mawk industries

    Also, the 06 cab will be different from the 00 cab as 06 has cab mounted mirrors not door, also, 06 has new style non square dash, 06 has different door handles and a bigger window in the passenger door, the 06 is going to be an ultra cab not a flatcab like the 00 would be (00 will have door mounted mirrors, square dash, small peep window, and old style door handles). not sure if these matter to you or not. I have done a cab swap on a classic XL from a 1998 cab - 2000 cab, the only difference was some wiring as the new cab had a cat and mine had a cummins.

    talked to mawk industries he said it should all work just to make sure I get the harness from the firewall to the ecm with the cab and also that my ecm will have to be programmed to talk to the ecu on the newer cabs but all should work
