Well I went and looked at this one today he said he hauled coil and steel with it as well as other freight but don’t really see extra braces up there, the deck was solid and wood had been replaced recently . The outer edges had what looked like a wave going he said he bought it like that 3 years ago any feed back on this one I really like it and the price is pretty good 6k I believed for the condition
it’s a 2000 east aluminum 80,000 gvwr would need tires, all the brakes and lines/ s cams, bushings, bags have been replaced recently he swapped them tires for his new trailer he bought

Any opinions on this trailer would be appreciated I’m only 6 months into flatbed but will
Be hauling coil and steel sheets and mix freight -
You’re looking at 25 year old trailers. Noone on the internet can tell you more than your own eyes.
Go look. See if you think the unit in question would hold up.
I don’t live in steel country.
I’ve not seen anyone use a 25 year old trailer for anything other than storage or antique truck show combos.
Is a 2000 chevy pickup a good deal? Pretty tough to know without kicking the tires yourself.Bean Jr., Razororange and Iamoverit Thank this. -
I would not put a coil on something that old
Their are places that would not load a trailer that old.
But it don't look to bad now 8 tires at $450 each
If ya got to buy rims $80 each
Shiney wheels $ 200 ea.
If its 96 wide no thanks...
Plenty of 25 year old trailers in the oil field that is where they are sent to die. -
Hauling coils on a standard beam trailer beats the hell out of them. Maybe if it had a beefier set of beams I'd trust it more. If you run it be smart and always spead the weight across the deck so you don't stress it as much. I wouldn't haul anything heavy in the belly.

Iv been hauling a 95 ravens the last 6 months steel plant doesn’t say anything same few places we pull out of a lot of guys around here roll with older trailers.
I went and saw it looks in really good condition guys been running it regionally the last 3 years bought a 53 to run. I was just wondering I know guys haul older east maybe not this old. Found a set of brand new take offs for 1600 at a wholesale tire shop in town 40
Bucks a peice to put on just trying to decide instead of renting a trailer and I’m responsible for maintenance on that -
6k is literally under scrap aluminum price, buy, scrap, profit, put towards something newer
-
Already told him I’m gonna pass on it, he sold it shortly after to someone else. I’ll just wait to find the trailer I’m looking for. I wouldn’t of wanted to buy it and scrap it, it was a nice trailer someone could use

I had a long response for you, then I saw you passed on it. You did the right thing
Bean Jr. Thanks this.
