yeah its is a shame the cam was not done just for piece of mind, but im sure if there was anything wrong with it it would have been replaced during the in frame. i don't think anyone in there right mind would in frame a truck put new heads on new injectors and then leave a bad cam in it.
as another friend of mine that has a very similar truck told me when i was looking at them. is that they had some issues when new. cams, he also mentioned injectors and a few other things but said that these trucks are getting old enough now the updates have probably been done and once the updates are done there pretty darn good trucks. the cam was probably done by before the guy i bought it from bought it. and if it was in need of a cam knowing the guy i bought it from he would have had it done.
iv been looking at trucks for quite some time now. this truck was on the low end price wise of what i was prepared to spend. (was looking to stay under 30K) and older than 2002 this seems to be a good truck. worked it today, ran great no complaints. trans shifts nice, drives nice sleeper is comfortable.
seems to have already had most the big stuff you would expect for a truck at this age and millage already done, just mostly little tinker items to do on it so far. as expected with a 14 year old truck

#### yeah brother, happy to see you doing well ! I'm guessing it's all going good for you ?
Getting set for winter? We had couple days of snow here this week, it's got all the fair weather Cowboys worried lol !Ezrider_48501 Thanks this. -
it snowed last night, didn't stick but to the grass. slightly over 100 miles in my first time out in the new truck started snowing...lol it was a muddy sloppy mess out here today.
job im working on now is suppose to last threw mid December.
all is going pretty well for me. hope things are going well for you as well. -
well a couple days in now in the new truck and a few more questions
the lightning bolt. every once in a while it comes on for a min or two and then goes away. only 1-2 times per day and only on for a couple mins and then goes away. is there a way to find out what that light is trying to tell me?
the jake brake. its weak, talking to a few other people i guess there all week. but im showing very little boost pressure when the Jake is on 2-3psi. also if i change between the two jake settings doesn't seem to make much difference i think it might sound slightly different but that im not even sure if it might be my imagination that it sounds different not much of a change at all.
now for another positive comment, even though this isn't exactly a offroad spec mack, i am amazed at the difference off road. the suspension doesn't bottom out like the freightliner did rear suspension seems to articulate and keep better ground pressure on all corners when you get off in the uneven stuff. -
The Lightning bolt is referring to the charging system.
-
lighting bolt is not the charging system, it shows various codes you can turn the key on and use the cruise control to see if you can get a blink code out of it with out having a dealer hook it up. I'm pretty sure my jake will make 10-15lb of boost there are some change over oil lines to help the jake also rebuild kit's may or may not help
wore out and Ezrider_48501 Thank this. -
im guessing the light has to be on to retrieve the flash code no light today and when i tried it nothing happened. ill try to get it next time the light comes on, i started a new thread for the Jake brake.
