If you have the valve with the round handle get it out of there. Once you pull the hose off you'll be able to tell of it's the valve or hose plugged. Replace with this kind of valve.
You can plumb them tight back into the same spot but I made mine easier to get to. If the hose is full of gunk the heater core probly will be too?
