I have given that some thought. And I’m not saying this will happen or could happen.@lest When the older trucks were written an exemption with the pretense of they will be worn out and junked soon and in a sense take care of their self. Then every stoopid m’fer with a DL gotta brag bout how smart he is for buying one. Then on to speed limiters and everyone is bragging no ecm on a mechanical. The new to mechanical engines post per day is crazy in the groups I’m in. And again everyone gotta brag bout what they doin how they is superior in intelligence. My question is what’s to stop the Feds from leaning on the states to no longer plate trucks that are not compliant with this or that rule/mandate. Maybe for one reason or another the states will do it on their own. Really I don’t know but I do know that CA has seemed to have done it successfully. Now I have run a mechanical way before e logs was a whisper. I have never believed that updating a 30 year old used truck with a 10 year old one netted you much in the better department. It’s got the same issues I have. I am not trying to skirt nothing and will run it unregistered before I buy a new one. I really can’t down a guy for buying one to get around whatever including a high payment. Will all the talk cause problems doubt it but why chance it. By flapping that lip about all of it you have already shown your sense.
Disclaimer I am not pointing this in the direction of anyone in this thread. I only quoted @lester because he asked the question.

I've said this before on this forum
I'll say it again
The guys & gals that think their going out smart the goverment are only fooling themselves and gonna ruin it for guys that choose not to go with the flow and have been sticking it out with the mechical motors
We dodged a bullet on the ELDs
And now with speed limters coming into play
All the Kool Kids wanta come back to the Dark side thinking their gonna out fox the system...
I'am not a people person and this is a perfect example of why I don't like people
Most people can't keep their cake hole shut and think that by brag'n how much smarter they are by telling how their gonna beat system thinking that makes them look smart on social media.. when really all it does is draw unwanted attention from people that don't need to know
The next thing is most the Gobber's that think they are gonna jump in the mechical motor game have never even driven a mechical motor let alone seen one & know the correct way to drive & maintain one without burning it down or destory'n it because of the do's & don't's envolved with operating one
Good mechical motors are in shortage as it is because there are a limited number that have survived this long.. Now those that have survived are going to end up being destoryed by the very Idiots that have formed the search parties to capture them..
IDK maybe the goverment is smarter than I give them credit for
Because they will just let the seekers seek out capture and destory the fabled thorn in the Government's side
I'am just glad I was never 1 of the Kool Kids and never left the empty nest of the mechanical motor even when it wasn't Kool to have one I only wished I 'd keep my long hair too
But I've stashed enough parts & bones from them so called Dinosaur motors over the years that I think I have enough warehoused to get me across the finish lineLast edited by a moderator: Jan 19, 2023
