Hey Pacetech, My dash problem was the ABS/Brake module in the back of the truck. When I unpluged it all my gauges came back to life.

What a great thread and thanks to all. I own the same truck but have no problems right now but I'm going to start employing the methods described like dielectric grease and checking the barrel connectors.
I do have failed exh. manifold gaskets so were fixing to change them out. Bought a kit from Cummins that has everything you need. The EGR cooler uses special O rings and of course new fasteners and keepers including the turbo gasket.
The radiator cap is a POS on this truck and many others and even shares the cap with my sick-o pickup. ( both binders ) One reason it's running hot.
Mine has a little oil drool out of the valve cover and from the rear of the engine behind #6. My wrench say head gasket is failing and that's typical on the ISM...it's only going to get worse so I'm making long range plans to do the top end 1st qtr 15. He says since my breather tube is dry then the bottom is ok and I should be able to push a million after the head job. Somehow I doubt his optimism tho.
I am looking for parts..... I would like the center dash control panel below the radio with all switches. Eagle will do. I'm needing manual control of the engine fan and want to add moto mirrors .
Lemme know..... -
johnnyhaulin Thanks this.

I am working on a 2007 intersmahiable 9900 with a isx. I pulled fuse for boost gauge and my gauges started working, put fuse back in and gauges quit, does that mean my boost gauge is toast?
-
Yes, common failure. That gauge is actually feed data through the datalink from the engine. Once it goes goofy it will take down the whole datalink. This is why some of the other engine related gauges don't work. You could replace it with just a regular mechanical gauge and run an air line out to the intake manifold if you wanted to save some money.

Those gauges are feed data from the engine. You probably have wiring problems with the datalink between the cluster and engine. The most typical locations is inside the main engine harness that runs from the right side firewall connector, over the rocker cover to the left side of the engine. This harness likes to rub through on the firewall, rocker cover or left brackets at the left top of the engine. Make sure to open up the loom and check inside too, the loom gets hard over time and will saw right through the insulation of the wiring inside.

heavyD I also have a cluster gauge problem with a 2006 International 9400i with a Isx. I was reading through this forum and today I was working on the troubleshooting the problem of the instrument cluster as on my truck when you turn the key on the gauges sweep normal but in 5 seconds the water temp and oil light start to flash, and the gauges go to the 6 o'clock position. Remove Abs fuse problem remain, disconnected the abs controller harness connector problem in gauges still remain. Clean and make sure all grounds were tight. Also can't connect to Cummins insite and I don't know if the data link that goes to the cluster goes into the diagnostic connector right of the key and causes my computer to not connect to Cummins Insite. What other stuff do you recommend me to check out ?

The datalink is your likely culprit. Probably rubbed through somewhere around the firewall to engine section. The datalink runs from the right side of the firewall, out and over the rear of the engine and up the left side of the rocker cover. Cut all the zip ties and open up the wiring and inspect it for any rubbed through spots. Pay close attention to where it is close to the firewall and maybe rubbing on it. The datalink wires are black in colour and will have markings like 98+ and 98-
