I drive a 2005 International 4200. When I go to accelerate from a stop, it blows a ton of white smoke and BARELY accelerates. It takes going down a slope to get it moving. But once it gets moving, it's perfectly fine. Replaced the muffler because under inspection, it was really clogged woth carbon build-up. Also, coolant seems to be getting lower after driving. I haven't confirmed this yet but I just marked the coolant level on the reservoir and I'll be checking after driving it back to our shop later today. Any clue as to what might be going on?

When you are outside of the truck, when idling, does the exhaust have a ‘sweet’ smell? Kinda like like cooked sugar? If so, there is coolant getting into the combustion chamber.

Raw fuel will sting your eyes. Could be that or stuck open egr valve. Need to know what engine you have and if there are any codes. Are you losing coolant?
