This procedure is provided by ZF for every on 12V truck transmission setup for US and European dealers. According this procedure first of all mechanic checks for doubler supply with 20 A load (we use high beam bulb), after that the same procedure for doubler output. All diagrams and procedures are in open access (no login) of ZF portal.

Volvo manual says to check TCU power supply with any Volvo, ZF and Alisson transmission. And there are recomendations to use component maker's manual too.

Volvo wants every mechanic think, not to be a dumb parts changer.

These guys at Terre Haute, In volvo/kenworth dealer didn't know a crab about testing procedure. I towed the truck there on Thursday and got the truck on Monday. I found the merritor website and did the test on the truck with my voltimeter. The voltage doubler cost 1200.
