My stock turbo has finally reached 1million miles this past October (btw egr got modded back in 2014) the turbo actuator or the vpod is now acting up
I figured why not replace the turbo with a borg warner 171702 and match it with a bully dog ceramic coated manifold, my question is since my ecm and all the other related egr crap got modded, can I just replace my current turbo with the bw 702 without doing any other tunes? Thanks

Nope.. you need more ecm work to D-Lete the vgt
Buckeyes614 Thanks this. -

Because your vgt wouldn't work correctly if he deleted it out of the program. And if you just go and put on a non vgt turbo like the 171702 you'll just get a bunch codes..

Might be a good time to call Bruce @ Pittsburgh Power. Get the new turbo from a reliable mod shop. I’ve seen some of his work and was impressed, with his expertise and the results, verified by the dyno.
