The gauges occasionally will start zeroing out ( oilpressure, water temp, tach and speedo ) Sometimesthey stay off for a while and then return. Odometer will say "no data" and the voltage indicator will go to zero and then slowly come back up. Charging system isfine.

Had a cluster do that... took the plug on the back of the cluster and pushed and held it in firmly. It would work. As soon as I'd let go... no data would come up again and gouges would zero out. But, I replaced it with a new cluster and it worked.. have you tried holding the plug and possibly wiggling it around to see if it would come on?
