I'm having an issue with my 2007 Western Star Jake Brake. Think I have a short somewhere, I unplug rocker switch and plug back in. Start up truck and Jake works when rev up engine 3-6 times then stops. Shut off truck and repeat. Unplug and plug back in, same thing. Changed rocker switch and no change. Computer says my Jake's turned off. Problem with ECM maybe? Any help appreciated

Might be engine wiring harness, they wear and chafe.
Try this, take the big plug out of the ecm, it is on the engine facing the fire wall, longest plug on that side, clean it with electrical cleaner, the wires that are just above the notch( you’ll understand) are for the jake, take a small plastic tool and push them in from the wire side. May just need to tighten screw in the plug.
    Good luck

    djjawknee Thanks this.
