My 2009 386 with a 550 ISX going down the road it will just shut off get real rough and then if I crank on it it will start but then runs for minute dies again

I had an 05 w9 with isx. There was a power wire that went from the starter motor to computer. It ran along the frame and had a spot of worn insulation. Copper shorting against the frame.
Took a engine wash to find the problem and fix for free. After 2 months of road calls and tows and $10,000 spent on mechanics.HopeOverMope Thanks this. -

Yeah sounds like a slight hesitation, how many miles on the motor?

Well, have you replaced the EXHAUST BACK PRESSURE sensor? I capitalized that because it's important, then comes the intake manifold air pressure sensor, and the egr differential pressure sensor: these are critical sensors that don't last forever.
If I had to start with one, it would be the exhaust back pressure sensor.Ejg018 Thanks this.
